What's in the dataset

  • 582 high-rank armor pieces - every piece in the game files at snapshot time: skills, decoration slots (512 pieces have slots), defense, resistances and crafting materials.
  • 179 skills - 71 armor, 66 weapon, 25 set-bonus and 17 group skills, each with max level and per-level effects straight from the game text.
  • 361 decorations - 66 armor jewels and 295 weapon jewels with slot requirements.
  • 187 charm ranks in 64 families, with crafting materials.
  • 25 set bonuses and 17 group skills with activation thresholds.
  • 14 weapon presets (one per weapon class) for the ERaw calculator.

Known gaps - shown, not hidden

  • Low-rank armor is excluded. The tools target endgame high-rank building; LR pieces exist in the source but aren't in the builder.
  • Decoration crafting materials are missing upstream. wilds.mhdb.io does not expose them, so the planner links each jewel to the wiki instead of guessing materials.
  • Weapon decorations can't be placed. The builder manages armor slots only - weapon slots depend on the equipped weapon, which is out of scope.
  • Elemental sharpness multipliers are reference-only. Community sources disagree on the Blue value (1.05 vs 1.0625); it's marked disputed wherever shown.
  • Some charms are event/limited and marked not craftable in the source data.

Methodology

Datasets are generated, not hand-typed: a script downloads the mhdb snapshots into data-raw/, validates them (every skill reference must resolve, slot levels must be 1–3, thresholds 2–4) and emits typed TypeScript modules. The validation runs again in the test suite alongside 41 unit tests covering skill aggregation, caps, set/group bonuses, deco fitting and the ERaw formula.

Modeling decisions worth knowing: set bonuses pool pieces of the same family across α/β/γ variants (the common case; the few variant-specific bonuses like Gogmazios pool separately), and group skills pool by skill name across different sets - both matching in-game behavior.

Update cadence & corrections

The snapshot is dated in the banner on every page and in the footer - it does not silently change. Title updates to Wilds add armor and jewels; when the pipeline re-runs against a fresh mhdb snapshot, the date and counts update together, and shared links built against removed items keep working by dropping the unknown pieces and saying so instead of failing.

Monster Hunter Wilds is Capcom's; this is a fan tool with no affiliation. If a number disagrees with the game, check it against the wiki links on each tool page - that's what they're for.

Who makes HunterForge

HunterForge is an independent, single-maintainer fan project - no company, no ads, no sponsor. It exists because Wilds deserved build tools whose numbers you can trace: dated snapshots, cited sharpness values, and gaps labeled in the interface instead of papered over. Corrections and dataset discrepancy reports are welcome at [email protected]; for anything gameplay-related, the community wiki links on every tool page are the authoritative cross-check. This page (and the changelog) is updated whenever the dataset or the math changes - dates are only bumped for substantive updates.
